On Wednesday, Feb 21, 2024, the UOSSM USA Jordan Office hosted the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) sector working group monthly meeting for the first time. This meeting includes all nonprofit organizations in the region including: WHO, TDH, IMC, ICRC, IRC, COOPI, CVT, CARITAS JORDAN, JOHUD, GIZ, GFP, ACF, MEDAIR, JICA, LWF, HI, and INTERSOS.
The main objectives of the meeting were to provide updates by the organizations on services provided, new MHPSS projects, sharing new research, and sharing relevant funding opportunities. Other agencies and NGOs also provided general updates.
The meeting was productive as many current and new mental health initiatives were presented and discussed by the 32 people that attended the meeting.

-Presentation University of Huston and JUST on a study in the north of Jordan.
-Presentation for “Integrating MHPSS into PHC for children, adolescents, pregnant women and new mothers in Jordan” IMC
We are proud to host this working group for the first time and look forward to hosting the group again in the future.
