Since November 2023, UOSSM USA has been delivering medical and humanitarian aid including medical supplies, food baskets, blankets, sleeping bags, hygiene kits, first aid kits, baby formula, and baby diapers.
During the month of Ramadan, additional food baskets and cooked meals are distributed to the neediest of families.
During Hajj season, Adahi meat and meals are provided to displaced and needy families.
With a famine officially declared in Gaza, UOSSM USA launched a monthly food drive to combat malnutrition by providing cooked baskets to thousands of the most vulnerable and displaced families.
As Gaza was officially declared under famine by the WHO in 2025, UOSSM USA continued to combat malnutrition through its programs. In January 2026, UOSSM USA launched a malnutrition clinic in the Khan Younis area, providing vital, lifesaving treatment for severe and moderate acute malnutrition, and safe infant feeding support to children between the ages of 0-59 months, and pregnant and nursing mothers.
The program also helps strengthen local health capacity by training staff on Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and Infant & Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E) protocols, ensuring continuity of care beyond the project period.
In addition, the program enhances community resilience by integrating nutrition services into existing health systems and aligning with global goals like SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
Through this program, UOSSM USA contributes to improve the well-being and the resilience in the war-affected communities in Rafah Governorate, Gaza, fostering the mental health conditions of the war-affected populations by providing free-of-charge specialized mental health services, which will alleviate the psychological and social impacts of the crisis.
As part of our ongoing efforts, UOSSM USA, in collaboration with UOSSM Canada, launched medical projects in hospitals and clinics in north and south Gaza, including advanced wound care, diabetes clinics, malnutrition clinics, eye surgeries, and pediatric medical care. Our teams have provided vital, lifesaving services to thousands, helping alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable in urgent need of medical care.
These projects aim to contribute to the reduction of health-related morbidities and mortalities of the war-affected population in the Gaza Strip by enhancing the accessibility to quality healthcare services for those most vulnerable and in need.
