Situation Dire in Palestine

The situation in Gaza is dire. Gaza is home to over 2 million people, half of which are children, that are under siege in an “open air prison.” They have lived like this for over 16 years. The recent round of bombings on Gaza left countless families and children needing immediate medical attention and basic necessities like water, food, and shelter. All water, food, electricity, basic and medical supplies have been cut off while complete neighborhoods are being demolished. Many hospitals have been bombed. With lack of power, the remaining operating hospitals no longer have the ability to provide care to those who desperately need it.

The borders of Gaza are closed, local markets are exhausted, there are no medical supplies, and people are fighting for their lives. No aid can currently be brought from the outside into Gaza. This is the biggest challenge that all aid organizations are facing now. The people in Gaza have no hope and no escape.

As of Monday, October 16, the local health ministry said over 2,670 Palestinians have been killed, including at least 800 children, and over 9,600 wounded, and thousands have been displaced.
