Impact Story- Shahad

Shahad was walking home from school with friends, when all of a sudden they heard a very loud noise. They were terrified. The next thing Shahad remembers is waking up in a hospital bed in Turkey. Shahad (13 years old) was severely wounded by an airstrike. Her right hand was amputated and her legs had several fractures. She could not walk and was not able to function without assistance. Shahad spent one year receiving physiotherapy in UOSSM’s Physiotherapy Center in Reyhanli, Turkey. She came in a wheelchair, unable to do things on her own. Thanks to your support and UOSSM’s professional staff and quality care she received, she is now able to use use her left hand and has become self-sufficient! She dreams of a day when she can go back to school, have fun with her friends and claim her childhood once again. We believe all the children of Syria deserve this.
