Children’s Malnutrition Clinic

As 1.4 million people remain acutely food insecure, the UN World Food Program announced it will end monthly aid to 500,000 people, due to lack of funding.

With the deepening of food insecurity in Gaza, UOSSM USA continues to support the most vulnerable families through its Malnutrition Clinic, dedicated to serving children between 0-59 months and pregnant/breastfeeding women.

From July-September over 8400 people received vital services at the Malnutrition Clinic. If you would like to support this program and combat malnutrition, please click here.

Food Insecurity

We continue to provide food baskets, and hot, cooked meals to the most vulnerable, displaced families in Gaza.

In July, our team distributed 70 “Vouchers of Hope” to the families of children in our Nutrition Program reaching 350 people. This initiative allowed them to select nutritious foods for their families, preserving dignity by enabling families to “shop” for their needs.

From Injury to Independence: A Journey of Healing

At just 32 years old, “Mohammad’s” life changed when he sustained a severe injury during the war in Gaza, resulting in the amputation of his left leg below the knee.

Due to the extremely difficult conditions and lack of access to proper medical care, his wound developed complications and struggled to heal. An initial attempt at a skin graft failed due to inadequate wound care and a shortage of essential medical dressings.

Our team reached him during a visit to his displacement camp, and began providing the specialized care he desperately needed.

Through consistent wound care, treatment, and follow-up, Mohammad’s condition improved, allowing him to undergo a second skin graft, which was successful.

Our team continued supporting him throughout his recovery, providing ongoing wound care and rehabilitation until he was ready for the next important step: receiving a prosthetic limb.

Through our program, Mohammad was referred to a specialized prosthetics hospital, where he received his new prosthetic leg.

Today, Mohammad has regained his mobility and independence. He can once again carry out daily activities, significantly improving his quality of life and giving him renewed hope for the future.

Through our Advanced Wound Care and Rehabilitation Program, UOSSM USA is bringing specialized medical care directly to vulnerable patients in displacement camps across Gaza, who would otherwise not have access, helping individuals like Mohammad heal, recover, and regain their independence.

Because healing is about more than treating wounds. It’s about restoring dignity, independence, and hope.

Together, we are saving lives and building hope. 🧡
