Impact Story- Omar
Five-year-old Omar lives in a home filled with mold which led him to develop asthma. Omar visited UOSSM’s Primary Health Care Center in Ariha with his mother for treatment and medication. Omar’s sister is also suffering from the disease. His mother says she had to take her daughter into intensive care more than once due to asthma attacks. Thousands of displaced people in northwest Syria live in poor living conditions that have negatively impacted their physical and psychological health. UOSSM continues to work to alleviate their suffering and pain.
Asthma continues to be one of the most common diseases among children that causes airways to narrow and swell and may produce extra mucus, making breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. For some asthma is a minor nuisance but can be life-threatening for others. Thanks to you children like Omar are able to breathe and feel better.
Together, we are saving lives and building hope.
